Music Composer Anu Malik Is To Appear On Television Reality Show, ‘Superstar Singer’ After #MeToo Movement


Singer Anu Malik who was a judge of Sony TV’s singing reality show, ‘Indian Idol’ since 2004, was accused of sexual misconduct by singer Shweta Pandit. As per the reports, Anu Malik will be appearing on the television but as a celebrity guest in another reality show, ‘Superstar Singer’. A source reported, “He will be appearing along with lyricist Sameer in an episode dedicated to the songs composed by them.”

Earlier, In October 2018, Anu Malik was making headlines, as he was accused of sexual harassment by Shweta Pandit and Sona Mohapatra. Anu Malik’s entry was also banned by Yash Raj Films in their studio.

After several #MeToo allegations against Anu Malik, he issued this statement, “I, Anu Malik, have decided to take a break from Indian Idol as I am currently unable to focus on my work, my music and the show.” Channel Sony TV said, ‘Anu Malik is no longer a part of Indian Idol jury panel. The show will continue its planned schedule and we’ll invite some of the biggest names in Indian music as guests to join Vishal and Neha to judge extraordinary talent of Indian Idol Season 10.”
